Note N388Funeral services for Romeo J. Paquette, 34, were held Thursday, July 16, at 9 a.m., with the Rev. Cecil Houle officiating at the requiem high mass at the Sacred Heart Church. Mr. Paquette passed away suddenly Monday, July 13. Interment was made in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Pallbearers were Francis Moreau, Francis Langer, Theodore Marsh, and Johnny Maher. Graveside military rites were in charge of Post 43, the American Legion, with the following Legionnaires taking part; commander, James Roach; color bearers, Ed Peterson, Frank Miller; color guards, Alton Deney and Floyd Hammond; firing squad, Kurt Hinz, Harold Lamberty, Roy Winjum, Donald Aberle, and Erick Ossowski; bugler, Curtis Meese; and escort, Bill Siebold, Tom Casey, and Jack Kenney. Mr. Paquette was born in Faribault November 5, 1918, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Paquette. He completed his studies at Sacred Heart parochial school in 1932 and attended Faribault High School from 1932 to 1935. He was an auto body repair man. He served in the armed forces from August 22, 1943 to February 28, 1946. His marriage to Mary Ann Kubes took place here October 3, 1951. Surviving are his wife; one son, Joseph, 5 12 months old; one sister, Mrs. James Reid (Bernadette) of Minneapolis; three brothers, Walter and Alfred Paquette of Minneapolis and Richard Paquette, Faribault; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Paquette. Friends and relatives attended the funeral from St. Paul, Minneapolis, St. Peter, Austin, Madison, Wisconsin, New Prague, Lonsdale, and Waterville.
