Benjamin Parent, husband of Magdeleine Larrivée, died on 18 June 1873, and was buried two days later in Sainte-Luce.[1]
His father is said to be unknown at birth but two years later, his mother marries Noël Chouinard who happens to be the godmother's (Claire Chouinard) brother. It is unclear if she met him through the godmother, or that the father's identity was undisclosed and they chose his sister as godmother.

I once Saw a microfiche in my very very early days working with genealogy. So I was not sure what I was looking at or where. At the time I thought I was looking at a microfiche of Benjamin's birth certificate or something related to Claire. The name of Benjamin’s father was left blank. But there was a hand written note in the microfiche that consisted of the following: “C. Bouffard.” I don't even know where I found the microfiche but it could have been at the Société généalogique du nord-ouest in Edmonton Alberta Canada.
If not, I wouldn't even know where to start looking. But finding Claire is what led me to find the rest of my family tree as it relates to André Parent’s arrival in the 1600s. Benjamin (aka Johnny) left his place of birth South of Quebec city & moved out to Rimouski in eastern Quebec. He told his descendants that he came to Canada with two brothers from France in the early 1800s. My own mother, Thérèse Parent Conway, did not believe me at first when I told her about Benjamin probably being descended from André. She didn't even know his name was Benjamin. She spoke at length with her only living sibling of nine, Irene Parent Blanchette. I am not aware of the contents of their conversations but mom did eventually come to accept the news when I took her to look in the genealogy books leading up from her own father, Donat. Mums Family of origin always referred to Benjamin as Johnny. But Benjamin was my mother’s paternal Great-grandfather and Benjamin’s son Louis Elzéar Parent was her paternal grandfather.
It’s says on wiki relative finder that I am fourth cousins 7 times removed.
