DR. PHILIP PARER DIES
After a long illness Dr. Philip Parer, of Kew, died today at his home. He was aged 48.
Dr. Parer was highly esteemed in the medical profession and elsewhere. He was a son of the late Mr Esteven Parer, one of the original members of the firm of Parer Bros., of Bourke Street, and was born in Fitzroy. He graduated M.B. at the Melbourne University and practised for many years in Fitzroy, where he was the medical officer of the Fitzroy Football Club until ill-health caused him to leave. After an interval he continued practising in Kew.
Dr. Parer, who has left a widow and two daughters, was a first cousin of Dr. Inez Parer, of Collins Street, and second cousin of Lieutenant Ray Parer, the aviator.
There will be a Requiem Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Kew, tomorrow at 9.30 a.m., and the burial will be in the Box Hill Cemetery. [5]
