Brian,

Thanks for adding me to the trusted list for James Morgan.

Unfortunately, he is not the James I was looking for.

Hello Brian,

I'd like to invite you to join in the "Weekend Chat" on G2G Today!

Share personal successes, stories about ancestors, tips, projects you are working on, or anything else you wish.

New members stop in and say Hello, introduce yourself, share your story, or ask for help.

Pilots, Mentors, and Leaders of all kinds please add something... your advice is always greatly appreciated.

Hope to see you there!

Hi ,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. Michelle ~ WikiTree Mentor

Hi Brian, I see that you just volunteered and signed our honor code. That's great! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Why don't you stop by the Texas project, (currently led/coordinated by Alison Andrus to see how you can participate? I'll let the leaders know you are interested!

Let me know if you need help with anything. We are glad to have you on board!

Thanks for volunteering, Brian! You are now a confirmed member of the WikiTree community.

As you add family profiles, you can use the green tabs near the top of each profile to find out what info will be visible to others - just toggle between private and public views.

If you need help, ask a question in our G2G forum: http://www.wikitree.com/g2g. Most WikiTree members are eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. If you need additional help using WikiTree, our Mentors Project is a great group of volunteers who will be glad to assist you.

Check out our Question of the Week: What's on your genealogical bucket list?

Carole

P.S. A branch of my family is from Lindale in Smith County.

Hi Brian,

A warm welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used and it is FREE. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

We’re really glad you’re here. More importantly, have fun growing your family tree and connecting to persons with the same interest.

Ludwig :)
