Margaret was born in Kendal, Westmorland, England, in 1865. [1] She was the daughter of James Park and Fanny Crawford, and one of seven children. Margaret's family relocated to Lancashire. She was enumerated in the 1871 [2] and 1881 census [3]residing in Lancaster. She declared her occupation in the 1881 census as ""Tenter Cotton Factory".
