Biography

Dan was born July 29, 1895 in Waurika, OK, a son of Richard and Lorena Parker. He was married to Ila Marlar on July 28, 1922 in Madill, Okla. The couple were to move to Chicota in 1925 and have been residents there since that time. Mr. Parker was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the Chicota assembly of God Church. He was a retired mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ila Parker of Chicota; four daughters, Mrs. Allene Terrell of Tupelo, Miss., Mrs. Ruth Sax of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Goldie Keiser of Moro, Ill., and Katie McCourt of Dallas; four sons, C. W. Parker of Texas City, Lawrence Parker, Alvin Parker and Clifton Parker, all of Dallas; one brother, Ernest Parker of Hugo, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Maude Martin of Hugo, Okla., Mrs. Rachel Burnett of Grant, Okla., and Mrs. Hazel Furr of Oregon; a bunch of grandchildren and great-grand children.'
