Harden Lee Parker was born on 28 Apr 1876 to James H Parker and Sarah Emily Simpson. [1]

On the 1880 Census he was 4 years old and lived with his mother and siblings in Mount Airy, Surry County, North Carolina. [2]

He was married to Nancy Lula (Doby) Parker (1879 - 1949) on 28 Jan 1895 in Dobson, Surry County, North Carolina. [3] [4]

On the 1900 Census he was 23 years old and lived with his wife and son in Dobson, Surry County, North Carolina. [5]

On the 1910 Census he was 32 years old and lived with his wife and children on Siloam Road in Eldora, Surry County, North Carolina. His occupation was "farmer", he owned his home and farm, and was able to read and write. [6]

In 1917 he registered for the World War I draft in Surry County, North Carolina. He was living in Rockford, Surry County, North Carolina at the time. He was medium height, medium build, blew eyes and light hair. [7]

On the 1920 Census he was 45 years old and lived in Rockford, Surry County, North Carolina with his wife and children. He was a farmer who owned his own home and farm. He was able to read and write. [8]

On the 1930 Census he was 52 years old and lived with his wife and children on Siloam Road in Eldora, Surry County, North Carolina. He owned his home and farm. [9]

On the 1940 Census he was 61 years old and lived with his wife and children on Old Rock Road in Eldora, Surry County, North Carolina. [10]

On the 1950 Census he was 73 years old and lived with his son in Eldora, Surry County, North Carolina. [11]

He passed away on 10 May 1965 in Mount Airy, Surry County, North Carolina and was buried at New Home Church of Christ Cemetery in Dobson, Surry County, North Carolina. [1] [12]

  • Note by Allan Capps on 17 May 2023: Marriage Date: the Marriage Index shows the date as 7 Jan 1895, however, that was the date they applied for the marriage license. The Marriage Record shows that the marriage actually took place on 28 Jan 1895.[3][4]
