Biography

The early years

Harvey Omer Parker was born in Franklin county, Illinois[1][2] on the 10th of May 1883[2] to John Parker[2] and Minnie Aiken.

Family Life

He would marry Lola Puckett on the 7th of December, 1925.

It is not believed that he had children, but he would become stepfather to Lola's son Robert Favreau[3]

His final home would be at 406 1/2 E. Maint stree, DuQuoin, Perry, Illinois[2].

He would be a Clothier[2]

Death

He died on the 20th of January, 1941[1] in DuQuoin, Perry, Illinois[2] and would be buried in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Du Quoin, perry county, Illinois[7]

PROMINENT POLITICIAN OF DU QUOIN PASSED AWAY[8]

H. Omer Parker, a resident of Du Quoin, died in the Marshall Browning hospital in Du Quoin, Monday afternoon, after a lingering illness.

The deceased was born in Franklin county, May 14, 1883. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Parker. At an early age, he located in Du Quoin with his parents.

Long Active in Republican politics, was given an appointment by fomer Secretary of State, L.L. Emmerson as auto license investigator. When Mr. Emmerson became governor Omer was transferred to similiar duties as state oil inspector.

He had been a member of the perry county Republican central committee for years, serving in the 7th Du Quoin precinct. He was serving in that capacity at the time of his death.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon at the First Baptist church, Dr. I.E. Lee officiating. Interment took place in the Sunset Memorial cemetery.
