Marriage: Nellie was married to Donald L. Benson. Indirect sources for this include:
They are listed as the parents on the record of marriage for one child.[4]
Nellie Benson is mentioned as a survivor of Donald L. Benson in his obituary.[5]
She was named as Nellie M. Benson in an obituary, published in The Wichita Eagle, which most probably referred to her because the siblings mentioned as survivors match her known siblings named in census records and named children match those listed in the obituary for Donald L. Benson match those in her obituary. (See Research Notes re children.)[6]
They are buried in the same cemetery and their graves are marked with similar stones.[7]
None of these indirect sources indicate when or where their marriage took place. Unsourced family trees on other genealogical websites record that it took place about 1965 or 1966.
Death and Burial: Nellie Mae (Parker) Benson passed away on 28 November 1987. She was a resident of Meade, Meade County, Kansas at the time but where she died is not states in her obituary.[6] She was buried in Milo Cemetery, Barnard, Lincoln County, Kansas.[7]
Research Notes
Her obituary named five sons and one daughter. Because all are potentially still living, they are not named here.[6] It is possible that not all of the children named were her biological children. Some may have been her husband's children from a possible first marriage. I do not have enough information yet about the children to determine this for certain.
