Edna Fanny Parker was born December 18, 1889 in Marshall, Dane, Wisconsin to John Parker and Hylie Yeaw.
In 1900, Edna lived with her parents and two siblings, Floy and Glenn, in York, Dane, Wisconsin, where her father was a farmer.[1]
On January 18, 1908, Edna, age 18 and a domestic, and Philip Husband, age 20 and a farmer, applied for a marriage license in Newaygo County, Michigan. However, on the record, Edna's name was crossed through with a note of "returned unused" and a blank in the marriage date column.[2][3]
Edna married Henry Benjamin "Harry" Gleason on September 23, 1909 in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan. Harry was a farmer.[4][5]
In 1920, Edna and three of her daughters, Marion, Muriel and Helen, lived in the household of her stepfather, Eugene Crandall, and mother, Hylie (Yeaw) Crandall (1872-1959), in Hanover, Chautauqua, New York.[6]
In 1925, Edna and her husband, Harry, resided in Otto, Cattaraugus, New York with their family.[7]
As reported in the 1930 United States Census, Edna and Harry continued to reside in Otto with four of their children - Muriel, 19; Stanley, 6; Norma, 3; and Roma, 1. (Their eldest daughter, Marion, had married Emmett Moore in 1927.) Harry's occupation was a laborer in a lumber camp. Daughter, Muriel, was a public school teacher.[8]
Edna and Harry were still residents of Otto as recorded in the 1940 United States Census. Their household included four of their children - Stanley, 16; Norma, 13; Roma, 11; and their youngest, Janice, 6.[9]
Edna died July 3, 1954 in Gowanda, Cattaraugus, New York, and was buried Treat Memorial Cemetery in Leon, Cattaraugus, New York.[10]
