Biography
Arthur was born in 1889. He is the son of Benjamin Parkes and Jane Sutherland.[1] As a serjeant in the NZ Rifle Brigade, he was killed in action in France or Belgium.[2][3] He is commemorated on the Messines Ridge (NZ) Memorial at West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.[4]
