J. Mastin[1][2] Parkins was born 18 Feb 1789[3] in Virginia.[4][1]

He married Sarah Haptenstall[2][1][4] and had the following known children:

  1. Margaret B. Parkins was born about 1814 in (West) Virginia, died 10 Sep 1899 in Manhattan, New York, and was buried in Ironton, Ohio.[5]
  2. Maria Emeline Parkins was born about 1828.[2]

In 1840 Jeremiah M. Perkins appears on the census of Raccoon Township, Gallia County, Ohio (Andrew Parkins appears on the same page) with the following household members:

males)-5:1 ; 15-20:1 ; 20-30:1 ; 50-60:1
females)-5:1 ; 5-10:1 ; 40-50:1
no slaves.[6]

By 1850 he and wife Sarah are living in Knox County, Illinois.[1][4]

Jeremiah died 23 Mar 1868 at the age of 79y 1m 5d and was buried in Victoria Cemetery, Victoria, Knox County, Illinois.[3]
