William Parks was born 13 October 1737 in Amherst County, Virginia. He married Mary (Dawson) Burks. He died 30 May 1776 in Powells Valley, Washington, Virginia. They were the parents of Margaret (Parks) Burks.

He has received a slave girl, Nell, as Tabitha's portion and thinks it most reasonable that his son, being the only child by that marriage, should have the slave and increase rather than any child or children that William Parks hath or shall have by the present or any other wife.
