Biography

Lyle Hilton Parks was born on 29 Apr 1916 in Todd County, Minnesota. His mother's maiden name was Parks.^[1][2][3][4] Lyle H. Parks was the grandson of Joseph H. Parks.

In 1920, Lyle H. Parks, 4-1/2, lived in Birchdale Township, Todd, Minnesota, with his grandfather Joseph H. Parks and Joseph's family.^[5]

In 1930, Lyle H. Parks lived with his grandfather, Joseph H. Parks, a retired farmer, and his family in Sauk Centre, Stearns, Minnesota.^[6]

Stella J. Koken and Lyle Parks were married on 3 Oct 1940 in Minnehaha County, South Dakota.^[7] (Her last name is Kiken on the birth records for two children's records.) NOTE: The 1940 US Census shows Lyle and Estelle already married with two children. They had at least two children:

• James Rodney Parks^[8]
• Janet Ann Parks^[9]

On 25 Jan 1944, Lyle H. Parks enlisted in the US Army at Ft. Snelling, Minnesota, for the duration of the war plus six months. His enlistment record shows that he had completed grammar school and worked as a cook.^[10] He was released from the service on 7 Jan 1946.^[11]

Lyle died on 25 Jul 1985^[2] in Douglas County, Oregon.^[3] At the time of his death, his wife was "Patric."^[4] He is buried at the Eagle Point National Cemetery, Eagle Point, Jackson, Oregon: Plot: A, 858, under the same stone as his wife, Patricia Ann Parks.^[2]

His gravestone shows that he was a Tec 4 US Army in World War 2.^[2]
