James Delos Parks was born on March 15, 1858,[1] in Decatur, Illinois. He was the son of Rufus Parks and Susan Frances Chapman.[2] By 1870 on that years Census, James was age 12, and the family lived in Artesia, Iroquois, Illinois, with Buckley Post Office. [3]The family moved to Lakin Kansas where James was a school teacher, at age 22, and his father was a Minister.[4]
He married Anna Minetta Edson in 1883 in Grafton, Vermont at the age of 25. They had 9 children:

They moved to Dirigo, Grant Co., Oklahoma where he was a carpenter, and on that years Census it states he was age 42, Wife Annie M, married for 17 years. 8 children, 6 living.[5]
His wife Anna Minetta Passed away on January 12, 1910, in Medford Oklahoma at the age of 44. They had been married 27 years.
In 1910, At age 52, and widowed, he was living in Medford, Grant Co., Oklahoma, on Second Street, [6] He moved to 903 D Street, Ardmore, Oklahoma, by 1920, where he was a broker in the Oil Well and Lessor industry.[7]
He married Martha Leona Roach about 1925. They lived in Ardmore OKlahoma.[8] They lived in Ardmore Oklahoma, where on the 1930 census they had her Grand daughter's living with them.[9]
He died on April 23, 1939, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, at the age of 81, and was buried in Grant, Oklahoma in the Richland Cemetery.[1]
