Alice Parr was born in about 1823 in Eccleston, Lancashire. She was the daughter of Isaac and Mary Parr.

By June 6th 1841, the family was living in Catchey Moss, Eccleston; Isaac (senior) was a farmer.

Alice's father died in 1842 in Prescot district; his age was recorded as 52.

Alice married Hugh J Glover in 1845, in a registrar-attended ceremony in Prescot district.

Their son Hugh was born in about 1846 in Prescot district, ^[1] and died in 1848 in Prescot district, aged 2. ^[2]

Their daughter Mary was born in 1848 in Windle, Lancashire. ^[3]
