Biography
Jolly Parrish was born in Goochland Co., Virginia to James Parrish and Mary Barnett. Jolly was a Captain in the military in 1780.[1]
His first marriage was to Miss Mary Blackwell and there were three children from this marriage:
- Elizabeth = Born 06 Aug 1758 married Henry Lawrence
- Robert
- Meredeth
Jolly's second marriage was to Miss Ann Powers, daughter of Major James Powers and Doretha Mathison. They married about 1766 and to them six children were born:
- Corbin[2] = Married Elizabeth Parrish, daughter of Alexander and Ann Parrish
- James
- Cythia Ford = Married Abisha Pemberton in 1793 and then John Brody in 1799
- Pamela = Married Carter Parrish 18 June 1796
- Jolly = Married Roxie Ann Spencer
- Frances = Married Robert Groom 08 Mar 1785
