Per the 1930 U. S. Census, Ernest R. Parrish (34) and Oma L. Parrish (28) were living in Dixon, Webster County, Kentucky, USA. Their children were Margie (6), Ernestine (3-1/12), and Oma J (1-6/12). Living with them was "boarder" Lonnie M. Gibson.[1]NOTE 1: Oma seems a reasonable nickname for Leoma, and the boarder, Lonnie M. Gibson matches her brother Lonnie Matt Gibson, so one concludes that this is the correct match. NOTE 2: Estimated birth year for Ernest from age 34 in 1930 census.
Per the 1940 U. S. Census Ernest and Oma were still living in Webster County, Kentucky, and they had two more children: Frank Morse (8?) and Billy Wayne (5). Oma J's middle name was revealed as Jewell.[2]
Although he had served in World War I, Ernest registered for the draft in World War II. The registration revealed that he had a ruddy complexion (he was a farmer), he had brown hair, blue eyes, stood 5' 8" tall, and weighed 170 pounds. It also disclosed that his middle name was Rolland.
Leoma gave birth to their daughter Joan Parrish in 1944.[3]
Ernest Parrish died 02 Jul 1965, and was buried, with his wife, in Little Zion Cemetery, Dixon County, Webster County, Kentucky, USA.[4]
