Charles Parrish is Notable.

Educator and Baptist Church Leader, he was the pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Louisville from 1886 until his death in 1931. He was a professor and officer at Simmons College of Kentucky (a.k.a Kentucky Normal Theological Institute, State University at Louisville, and Simmons Bible College[1]) and then served as the president of the Eckstein Institute[2] from 1890 to 1912 and then of Simmons College from 1918 to 1931 [3]

Charles was born in 1859, the son of enslaved parents, Hiram and Harriett Parrish. Charles married Mary Virginia Cook on 29 Jan 1898 in her home town of Bowling Green, Kentucky. In the newspaper article that appeared, she was listed as a teacher working in Louisville, KY.[4] He passed away in 1931[5].
