Biography

Joseph Parsons was born at South Berwick, ME, on 21 Nov 1769, baptized there 26 November 1769, the son of William Parsons and Abigail Frost Blunt; died in Eastbrook, ME, 20 May 1854, age 84 years, buried at Eastbrook; married at Alfred, ME, 28 or 29 Oct 1805 to Charlotte Sanders Sargent. He was a lumberman and farmer. His will is recorded at Ellsworth, ME.

The first settlements of Eastbrook, Maine were made in 1800, by Joseph Parsons, Robert Dyer, Samuel Bragdon and John E. Smith. The first mill, and also the first framed-house, were built by Joseph Parsons.
