Benjamin was born in 1904,[1] the only son of Benjamin Parsons and Mary Butterworth.
The electoral rolls show that Benjamin was a confectioner during his working life and prior to his death a railway porter.
In 1924 Benjamin married Elva Hannah Mary Jane Johnson.[2] . There was one child from this marriage.
In 1932 Benjamin married Bertha Begetta Vine.[3]
Benjamin died as a result of an accident[4] leaving behind a widow and two children and is interred at Karori Cemetery.

It is unclear whether Benjamin and Elva divorced before he married Bertha. I have been unable to find any divorce files on Archway, nor a death for Elva Parsons. However I have found articles in PapersPast relating to separation and maintenance between the two.

There is a family tree on Ancestry that has Elva remarrying in 1931 but if this is correct then the marriage was registered between Elva Johnson and her new husband.
Considering the times it was an amazing feat to bury Benjamin the day after his death in Wellington.
