Bertha Parsons was born in North Sydney, Nova Scotia on November 8, 1910[1]. She was the daughter of Edgar Parsons and Violet Janes.

Bertha married Edward Alexander in Sydney, Nova Scotia on May 4, 1929[2].

She passed away in 2008.[3]

Bertha Alexander 97, Sydney - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bertha Alexander, age 97, of Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility on Thursday, July 24, 2008. Born in North Sydney, N.S., on Nov. 8, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Violet (Janes) Parsons. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Bertha was a member of St. Theresa parish, Club 55 and Club 55 Rhythm Band, Sydney Pensioners Club and the Breton Quilters. She was an avid card player and especially liked to play tarabish. She spent many hours knitting, crocheting and sewing for her family. Bertha is survived by two daughters. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bertha was predeceased by her husband, Edward in 1988, daughters, Evelyn Murray, Marjorie Black, son, Vincent, a daughter, Mary Josephine, in infancy, brothers, Charles and Joe Parsons, sister, Peg Knowles; grandson, Allan MacIntyre and granddaughter, Frances Black. Visitation for the late Mrs. Alexander will take place on Sunday, July 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Church with Rev. Jim Oliver officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. We wish to thank the devoted staff at Harbourstone Enhanced Care and especially Fisherman's Cove for their kindness to our mother.
