Biography

James was born in 1798. He passed away in 1858. James Parsons, oldest son of James and Elizabeth (Miller) Parsons, spent his childhood on his father's plantation. He graduated from Georgetown College as the valedictorian of his class. Jame was a civil engineer and worked on bringing the railroad to West Virginia. On November 15, 1858, he married Sarah Caroline Peddicord and they had six children.

He was generous in all things, a true citizen, a loyal and trust- worthy friend, and these traits endeared him to his friends. He passed away in Davis, West Virginia.
