Biography

Henry John was born about 1815 at Great Wakering, Essex, England and baptised on the 22nd June 1815 at St. Nicholas, Great Wakering, Essex, England, the son of Robert Henry Parsons[1] and Charlotte Bowers Parsons of Great Wakering[2].

On the 21st January 1840, Henry John Parsons married Mary Ann Frost[3] at St. James the Less, Hadleigh, Essex, England. Henry John Parsons, bachelor, fisherman, of Leigh, son of Robert Henry Parsons (labourer); and Mary Ann Frost, spinster of Leigh, daughter of John Frost (fisherman). Witnessed by Mary Ann Thompson and George Lloyd[1].

Research Notes

Although Henry John gave his birth place as Southchurch, this was probably because the family moved there when he was young. At the time of his baptism, his parents were living at the neighbouring parish of Great Wakering where they married, so this is more likely where he was born.
