Recommended for assisted travel by the Rev R Morris, William and Elizabeth Parsons emigrated to New Zealand in 1842 on the "Thomas Harrison" from Gravesend 26 May 1842 and arriving in Nelson 25 October 1842. He was listed as being an agricultural labourer aged 22. Brother to John Parsons who emigrated at the same time. They would have been amongst the first settlers in the Nelson area. [3][4][5]
