Is there anybody related or who knows anything about Elizabeth? My nan was born to Elizabeth Partington , her name was Joan Partington she was born out of wedlock and she was picked for a new family at 9months old from the workhouse.

My nan had spent her whole life trying to work out where she came from. But we know her name is Elizabeth Partington. My aunties middle name is Ann which would make sense now. I was named beth after Elizabeth also. Please if anybody knows if this is her or knows anything please could you contact me anyway possible.

Hi Beth

I checked with my mother in law and she is adamant that her Aunt Lizzie never had children either before or after she married. Sorry to disappoint you.

Thank you so much for replying Janet. I don’t want to be a burden or anything.

The Elizabeth we are looking for would of gave my nan to a workhouse as soon as she was born she had my nan in secret as she had slept with a married man and was out of wedlock we think she was forced and was kept in secret so are you sure there was no way possible in secret this could of happened? I just really want to be sure? My nan would of been born In atherton.x

If not then thank you so much for your time. Have a lovely day xx

Hi Beth

Not seeing MIL again this week will ask again then, bearing in mind she would have been a child or even not born then and would probably not been aware of such a situation. Also as she is now 93 almost 94 her memory is not always as sharp and answers can vary day to day.
