Biography

Mary Partridge was born on 28 Aug 1812 in Grantham, Lincolnshire, and baptised at St. Wulfram Church the following day^[1]. She was the fifth of eight children born to Joseph Partridge & Charlotte (Bushby) Partridge, her namesake elder sister Mary having died in Oct 1811 before her fourth birthday.

On 18 Jun 1834 at St. Wulfrum, Grantham^[2][3] she married William Henry Page Jarvis (1811-1861). The couple were to live out their lives in Grantham^[4][5], where they had nine children: Ann Jarvis (b.1835); Mary Susan Jarvis (1837-1855); Henry James Jarvis (1840-1841); George Jarvis (1842-1875); William Jarvis (1843-1843); Lucy Jarvis (1845-1914); Henry Jarvis (1847-1879); Ellen Jarvis (b.1850) and Charles Bushby Jarvis (1853-1897).

Unfortunately, Mary's husband Henry Jarvis died in Jun 1855.

By April 1861, the widowed Mary was living at 8 Blue Gate, Grantham^[6]. She stayed living at 8 Blue Gate^[7] until her death in Spring 1877^[8].
