Biography

Mary Patch was born on 6 Apr 1649 in Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts Bay Colony. Her parents are James Patch and Hannah (Woodbury) Patch[1].Her parents were first cousins, and besides Mary they had a son and two daughters. Mary's father died when she was nine and her mother remarried five years later and had two more children.

Mary married Paul Thorndike in 1668[2], and they had children, including:

  1. Martha, born 1660[3], who married Richard Thistle[4]
  2. Mary, born January 8, 1668[5], who married Robert Morgan[6]
  3. Elizabeth, born October 14, 1670[7]
  4. Hannah, born 14 May 1673[8], who married William Pride[9]
  5. John, born January 22, 1675[10], who married Joanna Dodge[11]
  6. Paul, born April 16, 1677[12]
  7. Herbert, born 1679[13], who married Sarah Heriot[14]

Mary died on 12 May 1716 in Beverly, Essex, Massachusetts. She is buried there, in the Abbott Street Burial Ground.
