Thomas was born in 1807. He was the son of James and Mary Elizabeth Patch
Thomas went to Madras as a cadet in the Madras Infantry. He attained the rank of Lieutenant with the 8th Regiment of Infantry on service of the honorable East India Company, Madras Establishment.
He had two children out of wedlock with Armenian woman, Tanguiar Gallaston; Charles (b. 1830) and Fanny Cornelia (b. 1831).
Tanguiar left him and he married Mary Mundy on 13 August 1835.
Thomas and Mary had at least five children.
He was Invalided 18 February 1842 and Retired 23 February 1844.
Thomas passed away in 1880 at the age of 73.[2]
