Biography

Matthew was baptised 22nd January, 1843, at Telscombe, Sussex. He is the son of Charles Patching and Elizabeth Patching. [1] [2]

On 24th December, 1865, in St Nicholas' Church, Brighton, Sussex, Matthew, a 23-year-old Stoker, married Jane Harriet Sharp, the 19-year-old daughter of Alfred Sharp, Bootmaker. [3] [4] [5]
