In the 1790 US census, Charles Pate was living in Robeson, North Carolina. His household consisted of two white males under 16, one white male over 16 (himself), three white females, and one slave.[2]
In the 1800 US census, Charles Pate was living in Fayetteville, Robeson, North Carolina. His household consisted of two white males under 10, one white male 10-15, one white male 26-44 (himself, so born 1756-1774), one white female under 10, and one white female 26-44.[3]
It is possible that he had a son, Charles Pate Jr, who married Lydia Pate on 10 Mar 1821 in Robeson County, North Carolina.[4]
