Biography

Nathaniel, son of Walter Paterson & Mary Locke, was baptised on 4 August 1787 in , Kells, Kirkcudbright, Scotland.[1] Reverend Dr Nathaniel Paterson was mentioned on a memorial in Southern Necropolis, Glasgow, Glasgow City, Scotland with a death date of 25 April 1871.[2]

Nathaniel was a friend of Sir Walter Scott and his grandfather was Robert Paterson "Old Mortality" who Walter Scott made a principal Character in his Novel Old Mortality. [3]
