Biography

Helen Paterson is born on April 12, 1866 in the Manning River district of New South Wales, Australia. Her parents are James Hastie Paterson (1830-1894) and Bina Ann Kelsey (1840-1932). Kimbriki is 179 kilometres north of Newcastle. Her father was born in Scotland and her mother was born in England. Elizabeth has a dozen siblings.

On October 12 (possibly October 13) Helen marries John William Bramble (1965-1919). They have nine children:

• Mary Ann Bramble 1888-1928 + (1906) Joseph Worth 1879-1928

John dies in 1919 in Stroud. Helen dies on October 25, 1949 and is buried in the Bungwahl cemetery. Bungwahl is probably where John William was born and, even though he has several relatives in the Bungwahl cemetery, his own gravesite has not been located.

He also gives the address for the wedding as either Stay’s End of Stags End.
