  • 18th Mississippi Inf. Reg. Co. He fought in the Army Of Northern Va as a sharpshooter under James Longstreet, was wounded at The Battle of The Wilderness and At Battle of Cold Harbor Jun 6 1864.Surrendered At Citronelle Al on May 4 1865 and was paroled May 13 1865.

Timothy Meshack Patrick, 1840-1911, son of Jesse R. Patrick 1794-1849 and Mary Ann Moore 1804-1849. Both parents died of a fever, probably yellow fever.

Timothy and his brother Thomas Jefferson Patrick and a sister were raised by his uncle and aunt for whom he was named, Timothy Meshack Patrick. The uncle went by Meshack and the nephew went by Tim or TM. It got very confusing, and they took to using Sr. and Jr. for clarity. In 1860 he was a farm laborer for James and Mary Walters.

Timothy would enlist in the 18th Mississippi Infantry Regiment, Co. I, 10 Jul 1862. He fought in the Army of Northern Virginia under James Longstreet. He fought in almost every important battle in the East. He was wounded at the Battle of the Wilderness on 6 May 1864. He was supposed to go on furlough yet he is again wounded severely at the Battle of Cold Harbor, 6 Jun 1864. He was wounded in the face, neck, and other parts. He didn't fight in anymore battles. He obviously went back to his unit as he surrendered with them at Citronelle, Alabama on 4 May 1865 and was paroled at Meridian on 13 May 1865. What I have found that was especially interesting, TM was furloughed after being wounded at Cold Harbor and I found proof he went home in the Information of his church, Steele Antioch Baptist Church. He was made a member of a of an advisory team that settled a dispute at a sister church.

He would marry Martha S. Walters a sister of the Walters for which he had worked. The date of the marriage is unclear; they had 7 children. Martha died before 1893 in Meridian, MS at a hospital. Tim was not at home when this happened, and the children talked him out of collecting her body. He was probably selling cotton in Memphis, TN. That is why you won't find her buried at Antioch.

Tim married Almira Hutson, 17 Apr 1893. By 1910 Nancy Patrick Lewis, his daughter, whose husband died, lives with her 3 children with Tim and Almira. Tim dies on 11 Nov 1911. Nancy and Almira are living together with her children. Almira rests beside him in Antioch Cemetery.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Timothy by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Timothy:

Patrick-3911 and Patrick-2862 do not represent the same person because: My information is that the parents listed are not th parents of Timothy M. Patrick (1840-1911). The old Timothy M. Patrick listed as the father is the uncle of the younger Patrick. The younger Timothy’s parents are Jesse Patrick and Unk, thought to be , Catherine Moore.
