Jesse was a veteran of the War of 1812. He was given a land grant as payment for his service in the War of 1812.

Their will was probated in Rankin County, Mississippi Chancery Court session of 1846. Catharine`s name was established by a deed to Andrew McBride in Rankin County Chancery Clerk records on January 1,1841.
He and Catharine both died in 1845, Timothy, Jesse’s brother, had gone to Rankin County for Jesse and the children. Jesse died, near Gum Springs in Scott County, Mississippi, before they arriving at the Patrick Plantation near Ringgold in Scott County, Mississippi. Their will was probated in Rankin County Mississippi Chancery Court session of 1846. Catharine's name was established by a deed to Andrew McBride in Rankin County Chancery Clerk records on January 1,1841
