Rebecca Terrel Patterson was born on April 3, 1825 in Sommerset, Ohio.[1]
Rebecca married Caleb A. Williams in 1844 in Chesterfield, Ohio.[1] The couple had at least three children, including Oliver W. Williams (a business man and "well known and prominent citizen" in LaGrande as of 1902), Elias C. Williams (of McConnelsville, Ohio as of 1902), and daughter Sarah C. (Williams) Worstell (who predeceased her mother).[1]
The couple were members of the Quaker faith, and Rebecca was a "recommended minister of the Society of Friends to the Indiana Yearly Meeting."[1] Rebecca is also said to have been widely read, a "woman of fine literary taste," and to have been a published poet.[1]
Rebecca passed away in 1902 and is buried with Caleb in Grandview Cemetery in LaGrande, Oregon.[1],[2]
