Biography
James was born about 1868. He may have been the son of Alexander Patterson and Jane Miller.
He married Emma Eliza Williams in 1891 (he was 24, she was about 14).
They went on to have at least nine children (one of whom died young).
In the 1900 NZ Electoral Rolls he was living at Palmerston North with his wife Emma. He was a Labourer.
He passed away on 30 November 1949 at the age of 81.
