Biography

Sarah Elizabeth Patterson, daughter of Wiley Patterson,[1] was born on 7 Aug. 1860 or perhaps as early as 1854 in Georgia, USA.[2] She appeared on the census of 25 June 1880 in the home of her brother at Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee.[3]

She married Jim Isham[2] probably about 1882. Her death certificate shows her husband as Wiley, but documents for two of her children show it as Jim, incluidng the death certificate for her son Grover where she was the informant.[4][5]

She appeared as a widow on the census of 30 June 1900 at Dry Valley, Walker County, Georgia.[6] In Feb. 1901 at Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee, she, her brother Alfred and his wife Eliza, signed a request to be plaintiffs in the partition proceedings for sale of real estate in the estate of Arthur Patterson.[1]

Sarah died on 6 Aug. 1935 at Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee and was buried at Plot: Lot 116, Forest Hills Cemetery, Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee.[2] Her memorial has a transcription of her death certificate.[7]
