Joseph (Joe) married Patsy Shiflet and they lived most of their married life in California. I believe they had one child, a daughter. Jake, Joe and Willie Paul married sisters: Minnie, Molly and Patsy Shiflet

Eleanor (Paul) Hart, 87, of Tulare passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007. She was born on December 24, 1919, in Hignite, Ky., to Joe and Patsy Paul. The family moved to Dinuba, Calif., in the 1920s. Eleanor and her loving husband, James J. Hart Sr., of more than 50 years, moved to Tulare in 1987. She was a cook at Alta Hospital in Dinuba, until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Hart Sr.; a son, James J. Hart Jr. and his wife, Bonnie; a sister, Jean Larson; a brother, Albert Paul; and her parents. Survivors include a daughter, Betty J. Ritner of Tulare; two sisters, Virginia Hart of Placerville and Marjory Carlson of Fresno; granddaughters, Lori (Duane) Jepson of Ontario, Calif., Jennie (Brian) Wynn of Lemoore, Calif., Sherri (Andy) Lack of Fountain Springs, Calif., Jill (Greg) Antunez of Louisville, Ky., and Joli (Alex) Silva of Dinuba; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Lupe Vega, who loved her like a mother. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Smith Mountain Cemetery, Road 100 in Dinuba, Calif. Arrangements are by Dopkins Funeral Chapel, Dinuba.

Joe was born in 1891 and died in 1976. He was the son of John Alexander Paul (1849–1899) and Elizabeth Paul.
