NB: This is not the same Samuel Paul from Steuben County who died 8 Dec 1861 in Washington DC.
In his daughter Elizabeth's census records, Samuel Paul's birthplace is reported as New Hampshire, New York, and Canada.
In 1850, the Paul family lived in Paterson, New Jersey.[1]
