" Although the date of their union is not recorded,

George Braxton is believed to have married Elizabeth Paulin, the daughter of Thomas Paulin of Old Rappahannock County.

Together they reared three (surviving) children, George II, Elizabeth, and Hannah (Stanard 1906:327; Dill 1976:2-3).

The elder George Braxton died in 1748, at the age of 71, and was buried at Mattapony Church. His tombstone remarked that he was “a good Christian, tender Parent[,] a kind Master and – Charitable neighbor” (Harris 1977:411). [4]

The marriage date must be incorrect given Elizabeth Paullin's approximate birth date of c 1680. Her first child is born in 1697 which would put the marriage 20 years later at least.
