Joseph "Joe" Pavis was born in 1851 in Wood Ditton, Cambridgeshire, England to Thomas Pavis and Mary (Tilley) Pavis. His birth was registered in Newmarket, Cambridgeshire in the second quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Tilly.^[1]

He emigrated to the United States in 1871 with his parents.

He passed away after 1900. ^[2]
