Biography

Flower was born about 1738.

Alternate: Flora was born about 1743. [1]

2 Dec 1789, Wilkes Co., GA - The will of James Gray names his wife, "Flower." [2]

She married David Perryman at some point between 10 May 1790 (when James Gray's will was proved) and 24 Jul 1800 (when James Gray's estate returns state his widow married "one David Perreman").

Estate of James Gray, Wilkes Co., GA, 24 Jul 1800: "Returns of Jos. Gray, one of the excrs, all his transactions with the est. ... as found in the hands of the widow and excx of dec'd, who has since intermarried with one David Perreman." [3]

Estate of James Gray, Wilkes Co., GA, 24 Jul 1800: "Returns of Jos. Gray, one of the excrs, all his transactions with the est. ... as found in the hands of the widow and excx of dec'd, who has since intermarried with one David Perreman." [4]

She died sometime after she was named in the above estate record, 24 Jul 1800.

Alternate: She passed away about 1790-1795. [5]

Research Notes

If she did indeed give birth in 1795, it's likely that she was age 50 or younger, and therefore born after 1745. This contradicts the estimates given here.

Sarah (Gray) Perryman (1778-aft.1805) is attached as her child, although this birth would predate her marriage to Mr. Perryman. This concern needs to be evaluated.

It's likely that she was born after 1745 if she did indeed give birth in 1795. ~Deb

Payne-15517 and Payne-6387 appear to represent the same person because: Same husband; same 2 sons
