(Richard's middle initial seems to be "K" - it's in most records this way. His son is named Richard Kemble Payne Jr so "Kemble" might be his middle name. But for some reason "Lee" is listed as his middle name on one document - his marriage license to Idona. But then her name is completely misspelled so can't take that document too seriously. ~BF)
Richard K Payne was born to Peyton Lee Payne and Nancy Jane Kincheloe on January 1, 1912 in Love County, Oklahoma (believed to be Overbrock but cannot find the source at the moment) He was the youngest of 4 children. His siblings were John Lee, Mary Etta and Julia Ann.
Richard's first marriage was to Almorine Ethyle Watkins at the age of 21 on October 21, 1933 in Carter County, Oklahoma. They had one child together that they named Billy Bob - born 1935 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He and Almorine divorced before the 1940 US Census (where they are both listed as divorced and she and son are living with her parents).
Records show that he served in the US Army for one year (Oct 1942 - Oct 1943).
He married a second time on April 7th, 1951 to Idona Faye (Willoughby) Briscoe in Wichita County, Texas. Richard was 40 years old when they had their one child whom they named Richard Kemble Payne Jr. He was born on (still living - information hidden).
Richard was residing in Wichita Falls, TX when he passed away at an Oklahoma City hospital where he was receiving cancer treatment. He passed away just one week shy of their 20 year anniversary. He is buried at Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls, Texas next to Idona Faye.
