Biography
William Pitt Peabody, b. 24 Jul 1805 @ North Stonington, Connecticut, was the fifth child of Abigail (Holmes; 1779-1811) & Benjamin Peabody (1772-1867).
He married first, 28 Sep 1828 at Norwich, Connecticut, Elizabeth Breed [1]; they had at least 7 children:
- William Abel Peabody (1829-1839)
- Benoni Peabody (1831-)
- Enos Archibald Peabody (1832-1880)
- George Washington Peabody (1835-1860)
- Sarah Elizabeth Peabody (30 Nov 1838 - 1840)
- Mary Delia (Peabody; 1840-); married Edward Smith
William Pitt Peabody married second, March 6, 1861, Hannah Locke (b. about 1823, Guilford, NY), who brought one child into the family:
This was a farming family, residing at Unadilla [2],[3], then Butternuts, both in Otsego County, New York [4],[5],[6].
William P. Peabody died 7 May 1894 in Otsego County, New York. His grave is in Butternut Valley Cemetery, Gilbertsville, Otsego County, New York, USA [7].
