Biography

1776 Project
Sergeant William Peach I served with 3rd Maryland Regiment (1776), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

William Peach served in the Revolutionary War for Maryland, under Capt. Jonathan Sellman Sellman-144 and Col. Carvil Hal. He took the Oath of Allegiance. [1]

Jr, --son -to have mulatto girl "Sarah" who testator has manumitted -to have the remainder of testator's estate -named executor and instructed to set all of stator's slaves free at testator's decease Witnesses: Thomas Duckett Christopher Hyatt Richard Chaney Then came: Thomas Duckett and Richard Cheney Note: the testator signed the will in his own hand

At the request of William Peach the following Deed was recorded March 27, 1767 Indenture made March 25, 1767; Mr. Isaac Peach, planter in consideration of 10 pounds paid by William Peach, planter has sold a tract called "Peach's Balance" containing 100 acres beginning at a bounded red oak it being the beginning tree of a tract called "Strife" and the 4th bounded tree of "Widows Purchase". At the request of William Peach the following Deed was recorded November 28, 1769 Indenture made October 23, 1769; Samuel Riley, planter of Frederick County, Maryland in consideration of 2 pound 11 shillings and 9 pence sterling money paid by William Peach, planter of PGCo has sold a tract called "North Tryangle" containing 5 acres it being a part of a tract called "Ryleys Range" and beginning at a bounded red oak the beginning tree of "Strife". At the request of Richard Higgins the following Bill of Sale was recorded March 26, 1772 Indenture made March 26, 1772; William Peach in consideration of 25 pounds sterling paid by Richard Higgins, planter has sold part of a tract lately surveyed for William Peach called "Peaches Meadows" containing 69 ¾ acres and beginning at a the beginning bounded white oak standing in the low ground of Knewstubbs Branch being the beginning tree of "The Charles" now in possession of Robert Waters and others as also the beginning tree of "Knewstubbs".
