Biography

Oliverus was baptised on 1 June 1552 in Great Staughton, Huntingdonshire, England.^[1]

In 2012: I wrote: Last spring, I was able to look into our Peacock family ancestry via Ancestry.com at the New York State Library and tentatively extend it back 11 generations, although it is hard to positively document it from here in NY. This line begins with my grandmother, Anna Peacock, born 1882 in Homer, NY, then back to her father John Peacock, b.c. 1829 in Spaldwick, Huntingdonshire, England. By comparing notes with a cousin and searching on my own, we have the tentative line back: Anna, John, William, Jesse, Thomas, John, John, William, Thomas, Thomas, Oliver. In the old book "Bedfordshire Notes and Queries", found online in the Archives.org collections, Oliver Peacock's will notes were found on page 213:

"Oliver Peacock, of Keyshoe, husbandman, 26 Apr. 161 5. To Wife Grace two chests; to s. Nicholas & d. Eliz'th P. £^0 apiece ; to Robert, Isabel, Elizabeth & Margaret, 4 children of my da. Margaret Diccons, lO^. in money each. Mentions s. Henry, Brother Henry Peacock. To Servant Edward Peacock, 20i^. Residue to wife Grace, and s. Henry, whom he appoints exors. Bro. Henry P., Mr. Oliver St. John & Michael Bayes to be overseers. Pr. 7 Oct. 1615."
