Biography

Last Will & Testament

I Manuel Job Pearce of the county of Highland and state of Ohio being weak in body and advanced in age but of sound mind and memory do make this my last Will & testament -

It is my will that so soon as practicable after my decease all my property both real and personal to be sold at public sale by my Excecutors after having given public notice through this part of the county by advertisement posted up at least five public places, or by insertion in newspaper for at least four weeks successively immediately preceding the day of sale the property to be sold for cash in hand or a credit given for appart as the Executors may think most advisable and after all my just debts (should there be any) are paid and all necessary expenses discharged I direct that the following distribution be made to wit; One third to be paid to my wife Elizabeth. ten dollars of the remainder to my daughter Meriba and then what is left to be equally divided amongst all my children, my daughter Meriba an equal share over and above the ten Dollars and that children of Deborah Esdel, my deceased daughter to have her share equally divided among them and for those of them who are in minority I request that Absalom Sumner my act as trustee and I direct my executors to pay into his hands the dividends of such to ____ by him paid over to those minor heirs respectivally as they shall ___________ at lawful age to receive it.

And lastly I appoint Bowater Sumner and Thomas Davis ex- ceutors of this my last Will & Testment in testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and seal this twelfth day of the third month in the year of our lord eighteen hundred and thirty five. Signed and Acknowledged in presence of

I Samuel Bell Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas in and for said county certify the foregoing to be a true copy of the original will now on file in the Clerk's office of said court
