Elizabeth Pearcy was born in 1871 in Charleston, Illinois. She was the daughter of John William and Nancy Jane (Wade) Pearcy. She had fifteen siblings. She married Abner Edgar Stites in 1889. They had six children. She died in 1964 and was buried in Mound Cemetery in Charleston.
