Biography

Mary Pearman was born June 15, 1830 to William Pearman and Nancy Wells Pearman in Hardin County, Kentucky. [1]

In 1840, William and Nancy Pearman were residing in Hardin County, Kentucky. Eleven people were included in their household. [2]

In 1850, Mary was living at home with her parents, William and Nancy Pearman and her siblings, Benjamin, Martha, and Elizabeth in Grayson County, Kentucky. [3]

Her father, William Pearman died March 30, 1859. [4]

Mary Pearman married James Parks Wilson before 1860 and was recorded in the 1860 census as his wife. [5] Mary was his third wife. Living with them were his children Esther Ann (age 19), Mary Arthur (age 15), and James Jesse Wilson (age 13).

Her mother, Nancy Wells Pearman died December 20, 1865. She was buried in the Wilson Family Cemetery, Hart County, Kentucky. [6]

By 1870, the James P. Wilson household had shifted to the new younger family centered around Mary's children. The 1870 census recorded some of Mary's children. Her sister, Elizabeth Pearman lived with them. [7]

Cemetery records add Nanie B. and Wiley P. Wilson as his children. An unusual triple Memorial marks the graves for Charley C., Nanie B. and Wilie P. Wilson. "Of such is the kingdom of heaven, Darling we miss thee. He carries the lambs at his bosom." Wilie P. Wilson [namesake of his grandfather William Pearman] was born May 23, 1861. Nancy B. Wilson [namesake of her grandmother Nancy Wells] was born October 24, 1862. Charley C. was born February 5, 1869. Wilie died May 22, 1864. Nanie died June 7, 1864. Charley C. died July 18, 1870.
